The MXR-17 is the 7.62 round assault rifle in Black OPS 7 that gives players a powerful AR they can use in their games. While its not the best weapon in B07 compared to the other ARS, it is still one of the harder hitting ARS that offers that niche for players who love 7.62 type guns. The MXR-17 is very strong, with it capable of two-to-three hitting an enemy depending on the ranges and damage multiplier of certain bodyparts. Here’s a closer look at the MXR-17 loadout in Black Ops 7.

MXR-17 Loadout¶
We recommend running the following attachments for the MXR-17 in Black Ops 7:
- Optic: Lethal Tools ELO
- Muzzle: Redwell 7.62 Brake
- Magazine: Vault Extended Mag
- Underbarrel: Sentry Pro Handstop
- Rear Grip: Aria Assail Grip or Celerity Grip while leveling
The Muzzle’s Redwell 7.62 Brake offers players solid first shot recoil control, reducing the first bit of recoil dramatically. You also get solid vertical recoil control modifiers flat out, and get kick reset, which makes it easy to transfer your sight onto a new target after you stop firing. Throw in the underbarrel, and your horizontal recoil sway is stronger, and you get a lot of strong sway support while walking and standing still, helping to keep your strong 7.62 round assault rifle accurate and deadly.
We also recommend the rear grip for ADS improvements. Because the gun is a slower rate of fire 7.62 round weapon, you want good ADS to get into the zone, abuse your aiming sway and recoil control and kill people very fast. You again, don’t want to be using hip fire as the gun’s strengths are in its round damage and range, so, getting that aim in when needed is very important.
Throw in the extended magazine and you have a solid weapon. This takes you to 30 round mags. You need more ammo in this game thanks to the changed movement speed with the Dexterity perk very popular, along with the movement control with the wall jumping. Extra ammo counts for those awkward fights and scorestreaks you want to grind through.
MXR-17 Class¶
For the MXR, we recommend the following create a class for the weapon:
- Tactical: Stims
- Field Upgrade: Ammo Box
- Perk 1: Flak Jacket
- Perk 2: Fast Hands or Vigilance
- Perk 3: Quartermaster
Stims are very important for keeping alive if you’re someone looking to use scorestreaks in your playstyle. Stims keep you alive in these always low time to kill in Black Ops 6. Taking ammo box field upgrade feels great too for getting your ammo back. Again you don’t want to risk scavenger with your class because of how the gun’s slower TTK for pushing and worse hip fire versus other guns perform. So, ammo box keeps your ammunition reserves healthy rather than adding unneeded risk to your playstyle.
As for the perks, Flak Jacket is important for the semtex and cluster grenades in the game. Perk 2 is a bit optional, depending on what information you want on screen. The Quartermaster perk is handy for getting stims back, but you can go Dexterity if you want if you’re not too bothered about Perk Specialty.
