generated by its scales is stored in dorsal organs to later
be released in a discharge that can electrify the very ocean.

Although Lagiacrus are mostly found in the sea, they breathe with
lungs like other land creatures. However, their great lung capacity
allows them to remain submerged for up to half a day.

It can contract the muscles on the surface of its body to activate
electricity-generating cells. Quantities of electricity that rival
even a lightning bolt are then stored within its shockspikes.

strength to dominate monsters on sea and land alike.

The Ivory Lagiacrus’ shockspikes feature greater conductivity
and requires no cooling after discharge, allowing the monster

This aquatic creature is found in both freshwater and saltwater,
and its absorbent mane retains moisture, enabling movement on land.

This monster boasts a spongy, yellow mane running from its neck
down its back. The mane can absorb and store water for use while
on land, but the Royal Ludroth quickly tires if its mane dries up.

This monster specializes in hunting with water. Liquid stored
in its aqua sac can be sprayed at prey or mixed with bodily fluids
to create an immobilizing mucus.

stores toxins produced in the body. With each step, poison seeps
out and permeates the vicinity.

The purple complexion that earned this monster its name is caused
by poison, but the beautiful milk-white scales are largely unmarred
by this discoloration and are popular choices for jewelry.

This subspecies displays a preference for watery areas since
hydrating its mane helps it revitalize. Nearby waters will turn
purple when it expels absorbed water along with its poison.

by an internal fluid, it gracefully runs it down.

Its translucent scales have layers that break light into a colorful
array like a prism. Legends say each Mizutsune bears a single scale
as old as itself that will produce a rainbow when held aloft.

the moonlight, it is said to resemble a maiden or mermaid.

A sleep-inducing substance contained in this monster’s bivalve prey
accumulates in the body and reacts with microbes to form a glowing
powder visible in the countless gills of its mouth, neck, and tail.

Although the appendage on this monster’s head looks like little
more than a purple fin, it is actually lined with countless spikes
that can be released like arrows in a ranged attack.

This subspecies of Somnacanth resembles a frighteningly beautiful
phantasm veiled in frost. It uses the cold that emanates from its
body to freeze surfaces, on which it swiftly chases down prey.

Some large monsters contain a type of organ called a cryo sac that
emanates cold air from the body. The Aurora Somnacanth’s cryo sac
functions similarly to that of the Goss Harag and others.

Frost lines the edges of the grey mantle, which can be used to hide
its head. A pattern reminiscent of snowflakes covers the body and
glows brilliantly when the monster is angered.

mountains. Slipping between pools of mud, it stealthily approaches
and then dispatches unsuspecting prey.

This carnivorous monster preys on fish and creatures that live near
water. It secretes a golden fluid from its tail that turns earth
to mud with which it hides itself and prevents prey from escaping.

This monster uses its long, red whiskers to detect intruders in its
territory via the faintest vibrations in the mud. The whiskers grow
longer with age and are considered a longevity charm by some.
